Lidia Leal: Blog 3

Lidia Leal: Blog 3

The series book that I am reading is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This book so far has been an easy read and it has been funny. I think that kids that read this book might be able to identify themselves with Greg Heffley, the main character of this book because he goes through many situations that kids might go through while they are in school. For example, one of the situations that Greg is in right now is that his best friend just got a girlfriend and now he is lonely and is on the lookout for a new friend. None of the people that he meets are as good as his old best friend Rowley. I really like how there are illustrations to go with the text. This book would be good for fifth graders and above, maybe even fourth grade because it is an easy read. The content is really straight forward with a lot of humor. I think that this book could be used in the classroom to promote writing. Each student can have their own diary and decorate it. Students can write and have drawings just like this book. This way students are writing and also being creative.
