English Burn Book Maybe??

English Burn Book Maybe??

This multimodal project is something that I have been thinking about for a while, yet I still don’t know what I’m going to do. I mean I have some ideas, but I don’t want to be too cliche with this and also my resources are limited. For example, if I wanted to make a video, knowing me, I’d want to be of the highest quality and I don’t have immediate access to a nice camera. I also feel that that’s the road many people are going to take (and I’m not downplaying videos at all) so I want to do something a little different. However, coming up with a way to complete this assignment is very difficult when I’m not even sure what my content is going to be. I’ve been stressing over this as well, because we’ve gone over so many things that have blown my mind. I mean, I guess I can dabble in a little bit of everything, but I wan’t my project to be cohesive and not all over the place. I’m trying to pick one topic to solely focus on and I feel that once I have that down, it’ll be easier to decide how I want to go about this assignment.

One idea that I was just playing with around in my head was somehow creating a burn book. Similar to the one from Mean Girls, but I was just going to include all the people that we’ve discussed and their ideas and how I can incorporate them into either my classroom or the way I teach. That’s one of the ideas I had. The only reason why I’m so conflicted is because I feel so strongly about the five paragraph essay and that is something that I’d love to base my project off of. Or something about the unnecessary rules of English and writing that are such bullshit. I mean I guess I can just make a “burn book” about that, I don’t know. Let me marinate on it.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions, that’d be awesome.

  1. Your idea makes more sense than what I am coming up with. I never have heard of the Burn Book before, which is probably a good thing, because I know what I want to say and it keeps changing in the vehicle I want to use to say it. I think you have a great ide of how you’re going to carry it out, so get started and give yourself more time to edit.

  2. Please do this. This is great. The limit does not exist when “burning” the five-paragraph essay. Just make the comments sassy! :)
