Kory Kiesling, The Maze Runner

Kory Kiesling, The Maze Runner

Hi Anne, I had recently just finished The Maze Runner and I thought overall this book was amazing.  I would have to say I am kind of sad that Chuck lived the whole book and then finally died at the end. I think Gally is insane throughout this whole book. My favorite character is still Minho he powers through everything and is just a complete stud. I think Thomas showed a lot of grit by never giving up and he chose to get stung by a griever just so he could get a little bit of memory back. I am surprised how Thomas admitted he was with the Creators while they created the Maze. I think Thomas was also very brave for saying he would sacrifice himself to a griever even though in the end he didn’t. I really wish that Chuck didn’t die he always powered through to see the real world and in the end he ended up saving Thomas’ life which he must have a lot of guts to do such a thing. Even though almost everyone went to the griever hole where the computer was located it was kind of sad that half the people didn’t make it out. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I hope you did too! Thank you!

  1. Kory,

I am glad that you liked the book so much, and can’t wait to read The Fault in Our Stars with you! I had a really hard time getting into the Maze Runner so I did not finish it, but I loved reading all of your input on the book. I am hopefully going to see the movie with my friend tomorrow, so I would love to see how it compares to the book.
My favorite character was Chuck, because he was always curious about Thomas but he was sure of himself. The way that he was brave in scary situations was totally admirable and it makes me sad to find out that he died! I am excited to see the movie, and hopefully it will motivate me to finish the book. Thank you so much for your response. -Annie
