Madeline S, Book Thief

Madeline S, Book Thief

So right now in the book thief I’m on page 219 where it’s a little after Liesel meets Max and has been visiting the mayor’s wife. So this book is very interesting so far. I like all the language that use. I think it is cool how the writer writes in a different language and then goes back to english. The coolest thing I think is that the narrator writes like he is in the story watching. In some parts it seems to me that he is part of the character’s life. Sometimes when I read a certian part in the book that he is in, the way he talks, makes it seem as if he is god. So I hope whoever else is reading this books loves it.

  1. Hi,

I’m reading the Book Thief now but slowly getting into it. I have a lot to do so I’m barely on page 40. So far so good. It’s so devastating that she lost her brother right before she gets to her foster parents how. It’s sad to see her reminiscing her bother but it’s good that she still thinks of him. I didn’t think her foster parents really cared for her but they actually do. Sometimes the quiet ones are the ones who are full with life and have so much to share. I’m glad her foster dad has so much connection with her. At first I was confuse because of the way the book was written; I thought to myself. Why do I keep hearing a third party person? Or is the character talking? However I am starting t understand it little by little. I like how the author writes a section in bold to point out a certain thing like a description of something or someone. That really helps me too.
