Kory K, My Brother Sam is Dead

Kory K, My Brother Sam is Dead

Hi Anne, I have finally finished My Brother Sam is Dead and I would have to say that it was surprisingly good. I had a hard time really getting into the book but in the last half of it I would say it was amazing. I felt like the book was actually interesting and it was hard for me to put it down. I didn’t really expect the father to die that late in the book.Ithought he was going to die a lot faster. I was actually kind of sad how Sam died he was actually a pretty good person and a pretty good brother. He should’t have died how he did.

My favorite character in this book was Sam. Sam was a very brave soldier and in the end he was a very good brother. He cared even though in the beginning of the book I thought he hated his family he really didn’t. I also think Tim was very brave trying to go save his brother I wouldn’t of had the guts to go do that.

I really liked this book and would recommend it to all ages. I hope you also enjoyed this book. What was your favorite character. Thank you can’t wait to meet you tomorrow.

Kory Kiesling, My Brother Sam is Dead

Kory Kiesling, My Brother Sam is Dead

Hi Anne, I have just started reading My Brother Sam is Dead and I don’t really like it. I kind of find this book boring. I feel like reading this book so far has just made me want to change it. I think it’s kind of weird how the title of the book might tell you what happens in this book making you not feel as much emotion when he dies. I have just started this book so I am only on like Chapter 3. I have no idea why Sam would leave one of the best colleges just to go battle. I think Sam has a bad attitude towards his dad. His dad just wants to protect him and not lose him.

I am  really hoping this book gets a lot better because right now it is starting to bore me. I hope you are liking all the books that I chose. I think my favorite book I have read so far was Maze Runner. What has your favorite book been? Thank you!

Kory K, The Fault in Our Stars

Kory K, The Fault in Our Stars

Hi Anne, I hope you are enjoying the books that I have chosen for this project. I have just finished The Fault in Our Stars and I think that this book was just alright. John Green is a very good author and I like most of his work, but mostly I am just not a fan of any type of love story. The book wasn’t that great for me because I already knew what happen because some people told me before I even read the book. I would say my favorite part of this book was just getting to know the characters and seeing how cancer affects their lives. My favorite character was Isaac he was always strong inside for all that happened to him. I would be in real pain if my girlfriend just broke up with me because I am blind.

Most people ask did you cry in this book, and I did not I really did not feel a lot of emotion when the person in this book passed away (I don’t want to ruin the book for you if you haven’t rad it.) I really felt no like relationship to this character. This book made me fear cancer a lot and how we should support the people with cancer more. I can’t imagine having cancer and I hope I never get it. I was really sad at parts in this book because one of my church leaders that I was kind of close to passed away while I was ready this book and he was about the same age of Augustus.

I hope you are having a great time reading these books I chose and I hope you reply soon. Thank you!

Kory Kiesling, The Maze Runner

Kory Kiesling, The Maze Runner

Hi Anne, I had recently just finished The Maze Runner and I thought overall this book was amazing.  I would have to say I am kind of sad that Chuck lived the whole book and then finally died at the end. I think Gally is insane throughout this whole book. My favorite character is still Minho he powers through everything and is just a complete stud. I think Thomas showed a lot of grit by never giving up and he chose to get stung by a griever just so he could get a little bit of memory back. I am surprised how Thomas admitted he was with the Creators while they created the Maze. I think Thomas was also very brave for saying he would sacrifice himself to a griever even though in the end he didn’t. I really wish that Chuck didn’t die he always powered through to see the real world and in the end he ended up saving Thomas’ life which he must have a lot of guts to do such a thing. Even though almost everyone went to the griever hole where the computer was located it was kind of sad that half the people didn’t make it out. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I hope you did too! Thank you!
