Eli T Butter

Dear Bre

Hi again book buddy I already finished Butter in one night and it was by far the best and well written book I have ever read. That book made me think so much that I didn’t sleep. I think the reason I was so confused that the whole book was being led up to was only one page when he tries to eat himself to that. I wish Megan would have done something more because she seemed like she was the only one who cared enough to even get close enough to try and stop him. I wish Marshall (Butter) would have never created fake J.P to flirt with Anna and affecting her in the end because he was non exsistant. I feel like Butter created the website for too reasons a.) Because he wanted to know people cared about him b.) He wanted attention and was sick of being obese. When he uploaded butterslastmeal he got a reaction that he wanted he got fake friends he weren’t actually there for him but he didn’t mind because he was at such a state that he was alone with him and his sax and the Proffeser. I feel like if I got to that state I would want change too. In all I am really glad that it was a “happyish” ending and he was starting to reach his goals sorry if I spoiled any of it for you hope you loved this book as much as I did.

  1. Hello book buddy. Don’t worry, you didn’t ruin the book. It was so good and well written that I had finished it quick! I am curious to read more books by that author to see if her style continues in other stories.
I really like Marshals character, Butter, just because his story was not the typical “Fat Guy” story. In fact, he was so big that not much teasing took place, instead he suffered from isolation and internal battles within himself. Sure, some teasing did happen but not as much as I had anticipated. It was neat to see through the eyes of a 425 pound kid.
I did enjoy how the author introduced his crush at first through the online chatting, which is more common in the real world than we think. I felt it was neat because you got to see who butter wanted to be although I don’t think it was okay to make up a fictional character. Maybe thats why it was hard for her to give a lot of support to Butter, because he lied and played with her feelings. Although, at the end, the happy-ish ending was very cute when she gave him a second chance.
The so called friends he had due to his website popularity was horrible. The relationships they created with him were based on bullying. Although, I do believe that all the attention Butter was getting was exactly what he wanted from the web site. I don’t
think he ever really wanted to go through with it. He wanted attention and wanted to see if anybody really cared about him.
I really enjoyed this book! All of the characters were well depicted and had such a real life feel to them. The doctor is one of my top favorites too! Good job at picking this one out! You got book skills!
