One small step for graduation, one giant leap for my future career

One small step for graduation, one giant leap for my future career

Hello my name is Bailey. This is my final semester before I graduate. I am excited and nervous to start the credential program. My home town is Redding; CA. Something about me is that I played soccer for a little over fifteen years. I was captain of my junior college team my sophomore year. I love to go camping and kayaking. I spend most of my summer days in the water.

What it means to be “a Reader” is someone who understands what their reading and enjoys it.  They take the time to appreciate the book. I read articles on Facebook or Pinterest. I also like to read books, the books I like to read are comedy, romance, young adult or any genre that peaks my interest. Yes, I do read differently than then when I read for school. I tend to enjoy it more. I get excited about reading and it is something that I am not forced to do. I don’t have to read the article because it is for class I can read it because it intrigues me. Yes it does connect because I might read articles that pertain to a class or I read books that will help me in my future classroom. I like to read books that my students might read. This way I can discuss it with them. What I took away from the article is that many people have different opinion of what a reader is. From the reading I want to be more of the “reader” type. I want to fully engulf myself in a book and look for the potential deeper meaning.

  1. Hey Im Rachel and I’m your new blog partner! Congratulations on graduating this semester and starting the next chapter of your life! Thats very exciting! Are you continuing the credential program here at Chico? I also love to camp and spend time outdoors .I am so excited that it is almost spring so I can finally start to get out again.

I completely agree with your thoughts on reading. I love Pinterest and reading articles on Facebook, yet I am not always too thrilled about reading required texts in school.

I look forward to being blog partners!
