Hi Leslie,

I’m so glad you enjoyed Wonder! I have had the same experience holding back emotion on an airplane. I saw Marley and Me for the first time on a flight to Scottsdale and ended up near tears. Not a great experience.

I currently just finished Ready Player One and absolutely loved it. The plot line itself was amazing considering I love video games. This book was everything I could ask for. Humor, interesting plot (in this case video games/the 80’s), and a interesting love/friendship side story. Finding my inner geek in this book was very exciting. I found myself falling back in love with the 80’s culture and classic video games. It was also fun to compare the references in this book to my parents child hood. This book also had a great message too. That the real adventures are in the real world. Don’t get lost in the fake one on the screen.

My favorite character was Wade the main character in the book. He doesn’t have the best home life or what’s of it. His parents died when he was young and now lives with his trashy Aunt. He’s eighteen and attends school in the OASIS. The OASIS is his paradise. In this virtual universe he can make himself to be who he wants to be. This is why the OASIS is so popular all around the world. It helps block out the problems they have to face in the real world. Wade has wits and knows more than almost anyone when it comes to 80’s culture. This is key to being a gunter. Wade also has notability and bravery. The reason he stood out to me is because he shows this in the real world as well as the OASIS.

I really wasn’t sure what to write for this blog post, so as you can see I just rambled about Ready Player One. Hope you enjoy I am the messenger. That book will make your head spin. Anyway it’s almost 1 am so I should probably get to bed. Excited to meet you on Monday!
