Noah T, Wonder

Noah T, Wonder

Hello Diana,

I just finished reading Wonder and it is a really well structured book. I liked the way it kept changing perspectives of the different people in his life. This book made me feel sympathy for August on many occasions because of how rude and mean they were to him. Jack was his only friend and when August overheard Jack say that he was only hanging out with him because the principal told him to. This made me really sad. It seems like the books that I read are either sad or action packed, but that’s good because I really like those kind of books.

My favorite character throughout the book was Summer. She was so kind to August just because she wanted to. She is a really likable person, and it seemed like they needed each other, so when they became friends I was happy. Julian, on the other hand, is probably the rudest character I’ve ever read about in a book. He wanted to be popular, so he embarrassed a kid who was already insecure and different.

Well, I’m finished with all three of my books, so I can’t wait to hear back from you. I’d like to know about your books and what you thought of them.

Thanks,

Noah Trento

  1. Hello Noah,

And yes I definitely agree with you on how well this book is structure. Getting to hear everyone’s perspective is so cool. And I also have read all three books I think its great how each character in this book had an opinion in this book. I did feel bad for the sister character, she at some point didn’t want her August to ruin her new school and friends to know that she had a brother who had a deformity. She even said she wanted to start fresh which is sad but understanding of why she felt the need to run away from her little brothers problem.

Julian on the other hand he had a problem his side of the story is somewhat understandable as to why he got the name. After his grandma told him the story of how he got his name I though it was unique that the grandma told him that the only reason why she thought he didn’t like him was because he was scared of him. It’s true he was, and it was kind of him to have reflected on the fact that he messed up and he wanted to write a letter to August after he heard of his grandma story. I’m not going to lie this book out of the three or four that we had to read was my favorite I like the fact that because he was not normal and unique in his own way August managed to be liked and like he said everyone deserves to get a standing ovation once in their lifetime.
Do hope to hear from you soon..

    Diana
