Lauryn R – Divergent

Lauryn R – Divergent

* may include some details that might give small parts of the story away… Sorry

I finished Divergent in a really short amount of time compared to books I normally read. I watched the movie before I read the book (bad idea), so I had an idea of what was going to happen but the book, as always was better than the movie. I never thought I would be interested in that kind of genera ,but I am very intrigued by the dystopia world Triss has to go through. I also noticed that the fractions were like labels and if you go to a certain fraction you were put into a certain label which reminded me of Counting by 7’s

I really enjoyed the slow relationship of Triss and Four. I feel that a lot of books make relationships start so fast when this relationship seems natural and true. I think that the truth test Four and Triss do together is a really important part of the story because that is when they both bond and I believe this is when Four gets the idea Triss is Divergent ( I might be wrong, I don’t have the book with me). I feel like a under rated/ talked about character is Uriah. I think that his is one of the only daultless born characters that really tries to make Triss feel welcome and helps her not feel like regretting her decision as much and also helps her have fun.

I wonder what Triss’s life would have been like if she chose a different fraction and what her world would have been like. I enjoyed how she found out so many of her close friends and even family were divergent. I definitely am going to read all the books in the series!
