Ian T., A Mango Shaped Space

Ian T., A Mango Shaped Space

Hey Jackie~

The book A Mango Shaped Space that we are currently reading is very interesting to me. In the beginning of the book I was kind of lost, but now I’m on page 120 so I am understanding the book a lot more. In the beginning of this school year my friends were telling me about this book and how good it was, but I din’t really listen to them. Now that I’ve gotten the chance of this project and listened to my friends I’m very thankful I did. How far are you in the book so far?

At first I didn’t really understand what was going on with Mia. I mostly didn’t understand when she drew the math problems on the board in different colors, but now that I’m on page 120 I’m understanding the book a lot more. I think that the disease that Mia has would be kind of fun and cool to have. What would you think if you had her disease?

Another part of the book that I didn’t understand was when Mia’s friend Stella got mad at her for not telling her about her disease. I can’t blame her though because if I had something nobody else had at my school I wouldn’t share it either. I mean it would be a difference and all but it really makes you smarter in some ways. I can relate to that though because I’ve gotten in fights with my friends before and it is not very fun and especially if you just stop talking altogether.

  1. Hi Ian,
That’s so awesome that you decided to pick up this book after being recommend it to it by your classmates. I am sad to say that I was not able to purchases this book. It seems very interesting and I’m so bummed out I didn’t get it. I might have to buy it by the end of this semester, because you seem to be enjoying it so far. I have started reading The Fault In Our Stars, and so far this book has been great. I like the drama/romance between Hazel Grace, and Augustus Waters. It definitely gives you a new perspective on how to view life, and why you should appreciate every single moment of it. I look forward to reading more of your blogs.
