Hey Jackie~

I just finished Wonder and I really enjoyed the book a lot! I really liked how the book kept you thinking all the time about how August looks and the way August feels about things. I also really liked how the book pretty much gave you a character to hope for and think about, but it also had a lot of other characters in the book. Have you finished the book and if so what did you think about it?

I really liked how this copy was a special edition because it included how Julian was feeling and how Julian’s character really played a big role in the book. i liked that part because the whole book I was against Julian since he was so mean to August, but then after reading that part about him I had second thoughts. It turned out that Julian was just scared of August that’s why he was so mean to him. Not that that gives him an excuse or anything for being so mean to him in anyway.

I think I liked Wonder a lot more than A Mango Shaped Space because A Mango Shaped Space was a pretty slow book and Wonder was fast moving and it was relate-able. Wonder was very relate-able for me because I’m in middle school and I’ve had a dog that has died. In A Mango Shaped Space I could only relate to when her cat died but other than that I can’t see colors like she could and i couldn’t see the other things that she saw either.

My most favorite part of the whole entire book was when Jack, Amos and Henry stood up for August at their field trip to see the movie. What was your favorite part? I really liked that part because even though the boys weren’t really on “August’s side” they still helped him through the issue August was having. Over all I really enjoyed this book and i hope you did/ will too! I hope to hear back from you soon!

Hello Jackie~

I’m really liking Wonder so far and now I have second thoughts on when I said I didn’t like how the side of the story is changing. I really actually like it how it’s changing because it would have been a shorter and more boring book if it stayed on August’s side of the story. What do you think do you like how it’s switching back and forth?

I’m on page 257 and I’m on August’s view again. I have a pretty good image in my head of what August looks like now. What about you do you have a good image in your head of what he looks like? I think that the cover gives you an image in your head so that you think he looks like that but he really doesn’t. What do you think he looks like?

I really liked when the story was on Miranda’s stand point because she had a really great view of both sides. She a view of Via’s and August’s side, but also a view on the popular group. I didn’t really understand why Via and Miranda were fighting over Miranda dying her hair. What was your stand point on why they were fighting?

Even though I do like how they are switching back and forth I wish they would spend some more of the book on Julian and Jack. I really liked Jack’s stand point because like Miranda he had both sides of the story the popular side but also the August side. I also didn’t understand why Jack and Julian were fighting because Julian didn’t really care that much when Jack punched him but afterwards he got all defensive and turned everyone against him.

I hope you are liking Wonder so far and I hope to hear your feed back on the book soon too! I can’t wait to meet you in person also when we take our field trip to your school! I hope to hear from you soon and I can’t wait!

Hello Jackie,

I’m really enjoying the book right now because it gives lots of emotion to it’s reader sad and happy. What are you thinking of the book right now? I’m on page 147 and I’m in the part where Jack is telling his side of the story. I wish the author would have stayed with August’s side of the story for a bit longer. Do you like how the author is switching sides of the story so much?

Even though I’m really into this book a lot I do really wish that the author would have stuck with August and Summer a bit more. I really liked their sides of the story because their side has most of the emotion and because if it weren’t for Summer August would be really lonely at school and maybe not want to go back anymore.

I didn’t like jack’s side of the story so far because he seems really mean to August and kind of making fun of Summer for hanging out with him. He seems to me like a really big jock or bully. What are your takes on whether August’s side is better or Jack’s?

Another part of the book that I’ve really enjoyed was when Summer went to the Halloween party because all the kids were making fun of her for hanging out with August, but she stood up for him. I think that it was good of her that she left because it seems like she was uncomfortable. I think that farther in the book Summer will have played a huge role in him life. I hope you are enjoying the book so far!
