Introduction to Riley

Introduction to Riley

Hi Riley, my name is Maia. I’m excited for this project and hope that you’ll enjoy the books I chosen. I’ve had The Maze Runner constantly recommended to me, and since the movie is coming out soon I decided to give it a shot. The Lover’s Dictionary is by an author I love, David Levithan. You may know him from his book, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, which was turned into a movie back in 2008. The Geography of You and Me was on a Goodreads list along with some others books I love. I’m most excited to read The Lover’s Dictionary. Since I already love reading I’m not expecting much out of this, other than the opportunity to read these books with no interruption from school. I’m excited to be working with you. I hope you can enjoy these books like I assume I will.

  1. Hi Maia! I am really looking forward to reading these books! I haven’t read any of them before, but am looking forward to reading them all. Can’t wait to dig right in!

  2. Hello again! I realized I forgot to tell you a little about myself. I am in my third year at Chico State. I love books like Hunger Games, the Uglies series and books by Sarah Dessen. Have you read these? I also do not like when books get turned into movies, I think the books are always better. I like photography, and reading articles to help me improve with that. Maze runner is going to be a great book I hope!

    1. A few years ago I read through the whole Hunger Games series and was a big fan. The Uglies series is one I’ve been meaning to get around to reading. I have What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen but haven’t read it yet. Books are almost always better but I sometimes do enjoy the movie adaptations. Do you take classes for photography or just have it as a hobby? My dad went to a film school, photography was always an interest paired with that.

      1. In high school I took a class on film and since then have not put a camera down. I have a small business doing portraits now. I would LOVE to get a degree in photography, but I may have to wait until after I get my degree in Education. I’ve read a lot of Dessen’s books, but I don’t think I’ve read that one yet. I will have to change that. One book that was very different from what I typically read was called “Heir Apparent”. I remember really liking that one.
