Kissing the witch

Kissing the witch

My favorite story was the last one, the tale of the kiss. I loved it because of many things, one of which was the fact that it wasn’t based on a traditional fairy tale. I know that most times I like things that twist fairy tales, but something about the ones in this book bugged me. The new story was refreshing. Another reason I liked it was because it had a lot of true and valuable moral truths. One of these was the fact that as humans, the things that have power over us do so because we give them this power. We hand over the reigns of our own life… In the story she lived in a cave, true, but her power as a witch came from the fear and superstition of the town below. In life today we do the same thing in many ways, from accepting everything the media says to letting an abusive parter control you. There are many such examples, and this story tries to make us open our eyes and see this! That is why I love it. This story is also where the author draws her title. It is based off the end when the only payment the “witch” asks for is a kiss from the young girl.
