Kissing the Witch DH

Kissing the Witch DH

I enjoyed the very last story, “The Tale of the Kiss”. Since it was the last tale of the book, I found myself clinging on the the last story and feeling sympathetic for the witch and how she became to be a “witch”. It also gave great insight of the tale before it, “The Tale of the Voice”, which I felt like identified with a certain genre of girls today. a lot of teenage girls will do anything to get the boy to like them and having the girl give away her voice of all things just to be with a boy she had never talked to seemed to relate to middle and high school aged girls. They will do a lot to get the attention from the boy without even knowing them at all.

I think the author titles the book Kissing the Witch because the very last story mentions how kissing a witch is one of the worst things you can do. In all of these tales however, most of these ladies have something unpleasant in their lives such as the girl in The Tale of the Cottage walking around in the freezing cold snow because her brother was taken or The Tale of the Rose where the woman was the beast. Maybe they all were “kissed by the witch” or have needed the witches help in the past and that is why they all have a story to tell.
