The lightning thief-blog 3

My series book the lightning thief is really entertaining, I know that when I read it the first time I thought it was good as well but it was so long ago it’s almost like I’m reading it for the first time again. I get to appreciate the language and ideas more this time around since I am a more experienced reader. I really enjoy getting to follow Percy on his adventures of discovering who he is and watch his life change as he goes on his quest to save the gods from war. He wants to not only clear his name but also clear his father’s name as well. I think it will be interesting watch him develop friendships with Annabeth and Grover as they go on this journey. I think this book has a lot to teach kids, and it could easily be taught in  a class. I think the book tries to show kids that its important to be stand up for yourself and be true to who you are. I also think there is a strong emphasis on the importance of friendship since Percy really relies and helps his friends along the way. I would highly recommend this book to kids that I am teaching, its a really fun read.
