For the  most part I have enjoyed Miller’s book and the ideas within it, I really like when she discusses reading on the go and how we all have time to do it. I gave it a try today while I was on campus and I finished at least fifteen pages of my series book! I also liked when she discusses fake reading and the signs a student is doing it, it’s also comical to me because I was one of those kids when I was in school.

When it comes to teaching reading in the classroom I am most excited to have short discussions with my studertns after they finish a book and they tell me how much they like it or how they want to start the next one in the series, I know seeing their enjoyment will give me more incentive to find cool books for them to read. What I’m worried most is finding proper ways to ensure all my students are reading and if they aren’t than how do I find ways to get them to enjoy reading or making sure the books are at their correct reading level.

  1. Those parts in the book also stuck out to me and I also gave reading on the go a try, mainly because my phone broke on Monday. But I also took breaks between cleaning to read a few pages and it made it go by much faster. I have to admit that I have been a fake reader before. Most of the time when I just could not find a good book and then I also had off days, but for the most part it was due to not having a good book.

I think I also look forward to discussing books. I like in this class when we have time to talk with one another about what we read and it makes me want to be on top of my reading so I can interact. In elementary when we had small book clubs and got to talk about our books with kids reading the same thing I think it kept me more engaged in my reading.
