Blog Post #1: Intro and Riddle

Blog Post #1: Intro and Riddle

Hey guys my name is Jennifer Quintero, I am a transfer student from Stockton Ca. (actually a small town on the outskirts of Stockton known as Linden). I am a Senior here at Chico State and I hope to graduate this Spring. I found my passion for teaching in middle school, when I volunteered as a TA for the first time. Ever since then I have tried to work with children any chance I get. I would love to teach 2nd grade but after working with kindergarten and middle school students, any grade from K-6th would be fine. While teaching is my academic passion, dancing and singing are my hobbies and personal passions. I currently dance on the Chico State Dance Sport Team (aka Ballroom competition team) and sing in the music band at the Newman Center.

Riddle:

No birds, or doves or fish in sight

In this tale I hope to shed light

No shoes of gold nor tattered rags

Not even stepsisters who only nag

Rather, this tale wears a mask

Unfold this riddle is your task.

  1. Hi Jennifer!
My name is Emma Sheedy and we are blog buddies ( if that’s what you call it!)?! I’m from Truckee which is a small town up near Tahoe. I also would like to teach 2nd grade! I think the age is still cute without them being to sassy! This is the age group I worked with when volunteering in India. Ever since I have been in love with the grade level! In know exactly where linden is! I use to play competitive volleyball on a travel team and we had many tournaments up in that area. I may be mistaken, but I think we wrote our riddles on the same story. Is it the Grimm version of Cinderella? Your riddle is well written and very intriguing! Awesome job! Can’t wait for the rest of the semester! I hope I did this right!

    1. Hi Emma,
I am excited to be your blog buddy. I also want to teach second grade. I have volunteered at local elementary schools and worked at a middle school before transferring to Chico. Middle school kids are a different and a handful but I agree that 2nd grade is the age where they still like school and want to participate. I usually don’t know many people who know where linden is but that is awesome! I actually know where Truckee is too, my friend named her dog Truckee after we went to visit when I was little. I also chose Grimm as my Cinderella riddle. How funny? I look forward to blogging with you for the rest of the semester!
