Jacqueline’s Artifact, A Mango-Shaped Space

Jacqueline’s Artifact, A Mango-Shaped Space

I decided to make an artifact about A Mango-Shaped Space because I liked the story about Mia accepting who she was her and her synesthesia. I made a drawing of her holding Mango in her arms and then I drew and colored an orange figure representing her grandfather’s soul. I wanted to incorporate her grandfather in the drawing because he was an important figure in Mia’s life and I wanted to show that Mango represented her grandpa. My drawing is called “The Fleeting Spirit On Earth and In Heaven”.

  1. Hi Jacqueline. I think your artifact is really creative and interesting. I think you were very creative. What book are you gonna read next? I have`nt read that book yet but I would like to know all about it.

  2. Thank you Rhea! The book is called a Mango-Shaped Space and its by Wendy Mass. Its about this thirteen-year old girl named Mia who hides a big secret from her friends and family. She is able to see colors when she hears sounds or sees numbers and words. Mia eventually reveals her secret because her condition is causing her to do poorly in school. She learns more about her condition and she is able to accept who she is. The book is amazing and I highly recommend you to read it. Its one of my favorites. I am a slow reader but I am reading Wonder next. I can’t wait to read it because I have heard great things about it! Which book are you reading next? Also have you checked Jackie’s artifact its really cool too! Here’s the link: http://www.kimjaxon.com/engl341/?p=6280
