Madeline S, Finished The Book Thief

Madeline S, Finished The Book Thief

So I just finished The Book Thief and I thought it was wonderful. I saw the movie before I read the book, but I think I like the book better. After I read the book, I was in tears. I thought the author did a perfect job with the book, especially how he talked as if he was there watching over Lesiel and watching her grow up. You now how I said that I thought the narrator was talking as if he was god, when I got further, it turns out he was death, taking souls with him as he watched Lesial.

At the end of the book, it doesn’t say much about what happens to Lesial and Max, what had happened between Lesial leaving Mochling and then her dying as a old lady. I wished really knew though.

So no that I finished The Book Thief, I’m now reading If I Stay. I’m not that far in the book, but so far I like it, like how it starts out in the present, then goes into the past. I’m really liking this project a lot.

  1. You’re making me so nervous….. I can’t wait to read tonight. I’m glad you liked the book; you made some great choices in picking books. The author’s pretty good at making me feel like I’m there in the room with Lesiel; watching her and sharing her emotions with her. I feel like I’m going to have a good cry like I did in the Maze Runner.

      1. No, I have not seen the movie. Hopefully during the Thanksgiving break and the winter break I can watch it. Did you like the movie too? Who do you like from the book?
