Jake H., The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian

So, I am on page 200 in The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, and the book has been great! My favorite character is probably Junior. I usually don’t choose the main character as my favorite, but in this case I find Junior (or Arnold) very relatable. I was wondering who your favorite character was, too.

I am very glad I chose to read this book. I had heard it was great from my friends, but I had no idea what it was about. I really like how there are pictures in the book, but they are Junior’s cartoons, which is very cool to me. It surprised me how they included those cartoons because the book isn’t childish at all. Anyway, I hope you get the chance to reply to this, and I am really looking forward to reading Ready Player One.

  1. I would agree that Junior is my favorite. He is going through so much, but keeps his head up and keeps going. I think that is a very important trait to have as a person in this world. I honestly expected the book to be kind of boring, like a history book or something about Indians, but I loved it. I was surprised but how inspiring the story line was to me. A real motivator. I’m glad you are enjoying it!

What part about his character has surprised you most so far?

    Talk to you soon :)
