Jade G, The Chocolate War

Jade G, The Chocolate War

Recently I started reading The Chocolate War. Since our class spent Wednesday and Thursday on our Ashland trip, I didn’t have as much time to read the book, so I’m not very far into it yet. To be totally honest I’m not really liking this book as much as Counting by 7’s. It not that it’s a bad book I’m just not that interested in it. The beginning is also a little bit confusing. I don’t know who was “murdered” and what he was doing. Or who the main character is, or really anything about the book.

I really hope that after I read a little bit more of the book that I understand it more and enjoy the book. Are you enjoying The Chocolate War? Where are you in it?

Can’t wait to hear from you,

Jade Green

  1. Hello Jade!

I am very happy to hear that we are feeling the same way about this book! I have had a very difficult time reading this because I am not interested in it yet. I am hoping as I read more it will get better. However if I still do not feel that this book is the right one for me after I read half of the book I’m going to put it down and start a new one. I feel that you should not force yourself to read something that you do not find interesting. Unfortunately I have not made much progress yet and I am only on chapter nine. Why do you think you do not like this book so far? I think I am not as interested because it reminds me of a book a boy would relate to.
Hope to hear from you soon!
