Introduction to Jacqueline B.

Introduction to Jacqueline B.

Dear Jacqueline,

my name is Kathryn. you can call me Kat or Katy, whichever you prefer. I am excited to be talking with you about books. I don’t usually talk about my books so this experience will be cool. I read a ton of different books. My genre of choice is usually Syfy or Science Fiction. I like reading Llife Magazines and the cool underwater or desert articles. I read some Manga but they’re also Science Fiction. I also like reading the classics. I’m on the third story of ” The Ultimate Hichhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. I am waiting to start “Count of Monte Cristo “.

When my parents are at work and I have a day off or they leave and let me stay home, I find a new book I’m in the middle of reading and I sit on the couch and read. Some times I take my radio with me and listen to music at the same time. When I’m cleaning my room some times I shut the door all the way and read. I usually get caught but sometimes I’m lucky. When it’s cold or raining and we have a fire I grab a book and lay down next to my dogs on the floor. after two minutes our three year old pup will lay on my arms covering my book and obscuring the movement of my arms.

I hope to learn more about you also.

Sincerely,

Kathryn

  1. Dear Jacqueline,

I’m on the 133 page of “Wolf Brother” it is pretty interesting. I like how the book based off of the spirits that native Americans used to (or still do) believe in. I like reading about the adventures the boy has with the wolf cub. I’d like to know witch book your reading and how far you’ve got.

    sincerely

    Kathryn

    1. Hi Katy!

It’s nice to meet you! Sorry it took me long to respond to you I been really busy with work and I had a presentation and a lot of tests this week. I am excited to read the books you chose they seem really interesting especially “Wonder” and “A Mango-Shaped Space”. Right now I am reading “A Mango Shaped Space” and its getting really good that I can’t put it down. I also love the classics especially anything that has been written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. My favorite genre is fiction and romance. Things that you should know about me are that I am from a small town called Poway which is in San Diego and I am a junior at Chico State. I am excited this year since my little brother is also attending Chico State, he is barely a freshman. I also love to run in Bidwell Park (even though I haven’t gone in a while) and I like to listen to music a lot. I am very open in listening to any type of music if it has a nice beat I would most likely listen to it. What type of music do you listen to? I have a lot of friends that read manga but I haven’t had time to read some. Which ones do you recommend? I heard about “The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” but haven’t had the chance to read it yet and how is it so far? What are your dogs names? I am excited working with you this semester! I hope you have an amazing day reading! :)

    2. I barely finished “A Mango-Shaped Space” and it was amazing that I couldn’t put it down. I know that you haven’t started it yet but I can’t wait for you to read it. At first I didn’t know what was happening with Mia since the beginning was kind of confusing but then as I read on I learned what she was experiencing. The author is great at describing what she is seeing and it made me feel like I was seeing the colors as she was seeing them. I don’t want to give to give too much away but the ending was kind of abrupt. Do you like books when they have a definite ending or do you prefer reading a book that has an open ending? The next books that I will be reading are going to be Wolf Brother and Legend (Craig is reading it). I can’t wait to hear your opinions about Wolf Brother! Sorry it took me too long to write to you I am a slow reader.

      1. Dear Jacqueline,

I’m almost done with “Wonder”. The book so far is really sad and I can sort of relate. I was bullied a lot, but it never bothered me because I knew that they were not happy with themselves so I felt almost sorry for them. The book “Wolfs Brother” I have finished. The ending was really sad because in the end the prophesy was true and Torak fulfilled his fathers wish but after that Wolf goes away and joins another pack of wolves. I almost cried in the end. I can’t wait to read the next one. you asked me about book endings and as long as it is a good book i don’t really care.
