Introduction to Ashley K.

Introduction to Ashley K.

Hi Ashley! My name is Clara C. I am exited to do some reading with you! I think you already know what books I picked. Which one do you think sounds best? I think that The Fault in our Stars sounds good from what I’ve heard. Have you heard of any of these or read them? A bit about me- I love fantasy fiction genre like Harry Potter. But I can read just about anything. O.K, so I am exited to get to know you and I think we will have lots of fun with this project!

  1. Hello Clara C. I am very excited to read with you as well. I was happy to see your list because I already owned “out of my mind” I just haven’t read it yet. and “13 reasons why” sounded interesting. The only one I wasn’t sure about was “fault in our stars” which I was scared to start because I don’t really care for hospital books or sick books. so I really was avoiding starting it, but today I had a break between classes so I started it and I just can’t put it down! It is amazing! I am already to page 108! I feel like this is going to be a great book! I feel like your whole list is great and we will have fun with this. The only book I really wanted to add to your list was Divergent. But whether or not you guy do it, I am reading it :-P What is your favorite book? any suggestions? I am a reader so if you need anything else to read just ask, I have all sorts of suggestions. I have a pile of favorites, including Harry Potter. About me… well, I can read most types of books (just not biographys) I love acting, been in many plays, am a TV junkie, and love to bake. I don’t know what else to say about myself. How about you? What do you like to do other than reading? Tell me something interesting about yourself. I am very excited to get to know you, and am looking forward to your reply. lets have fun and get reading!

  2. Ok, I have now finished the book, and am ready to talk. How far are you? Have you started? I don’t want to accidentally give something away. Let me know how far you are and what you think so far… I am kinda mad at the author. I finished this book sitting in the library and crying. Have you ever cried while reading?

  3. Hi again! I’m sorry I haven’t been replying to your replies! I read the first one again and something in it got me exited! It was the bit about Harry Potter. I love Harry Potter! It’s one of my favorite books too! I also finished The Fault in our Stars. The ending was so sad! I also cried while reading it. I couldn’t put it down! Have you started on the next one? which one is it?

    1. I Don’t Know What next, I Was Thinking Maybe “13 Reasons why” But any would work, So no, I haven’t Started Another One yet. This one really pissed me off, especially because you are so mentally prepared for her death that when it is him… hits you like a ton of bricks! This is why I hate hospital and sick books! I get too emotionally involved! I loved the way this book was written, but then when he died… I literally had to stop reading for like a half an hour and just sit staring out the window!

  4. since you never said anything, I went ahead and started “13 reasons why” and it is really good. If you haven’t started anything yet, you should read it with me…

    1. Hi! It’s good that you have started 13 Reasons Why because I am starting that one too. I totally agree with the thing you said about The Fault in our Stars! Such a sad book. ): I am hoping 13 Reasons Why isn’t as sad!

  5. It’s about a girl who committed suicide, so that’s sad, but from the first page you know that, so no surprises, lol. And I am finding it good. Kinda interesting and real life-ish I am trying to figure out the point, why she did it and what clay has to do with the whole thing… what do you think so far?

  6. Ok, sorry, but once again I have devoured… this book is finished. Don’t be in a rush, I know we have quite a bit of time for this assignment, but I am a reader, and once I get started, I just can’t help myself! This was a good book, a little hard to follow sometimes, but what did you think? Or, what are you thinking, as you are probably not done yet…

    1. Hi! Don’t worry, I’ll finish this book soon! I am thinking so far it’s a really good book. Do you think we’ll have to come up with some others to read?

  7. now, if we do need to come up with a longer list, that is no problem for me, I have loads of suggestions… if you want them. I feel like this could be a really fun semester… how is eighth grade for you so far? any other hobbies you would like to tell me about…?

    1. I would love to hear what books you would like to read! Eighth grade is pretty cool, but I the thing is you spend eighth grade thinking about high school. Kind of scary. Some other hobbies I have? Well, I like to sing in choir and I take voice lessons. I’m not really the sporty type, although I like four-square. Do you have any hobbies? Also the comment a few back about 13 reasons why not being as sad? That was incorrect. Very incorrect. -Clara

  8. okay, sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, busy life and I have been in a weird mood lately. Soon I imagine I will be better, lol. the list of books I love is way to long, but a few of them would be the uglies series by Scott Westerfeld and “The Squire’s Tales” by Gerald Morris and of course “the circle of magic” and “the circle opens” series’ by Tamora Pierce. I do notice that these are all series, but the list of books that I love is far too long. I don’t know what book to read next, did you already start “out of my mind?” I am debating starting that one or “Divergent” next, do you want to read “Divergent” with me? right now I am currently rereading a book from my childhood called “Beast” by Donna jo Napoli. I skipped Eighth grade, and because of that they didn’t let me have an Eighth grade graduation because “I never completed Eighth grade.” But I went to a K-12 Charter school, so I never had to worry about transitioning to HS, I was there with the same people and things as the year before, so I never experienced that fear.

I like to sing too, but people tell me I’m bad at it, so I only do it when I am by myself or if I am with someone I really trust. I am not the sporty type either, I did play soccer for a year when I was little, but I hatted it. I did ballroom dancing a few years ago and that was fun. And I like four-square too.

My hobbies are things like baking, decorating cakes, and any thing to do with art. I love arts and crafts, and also anything you would make in a kitchen. I also know many TV shows, and of course reading.

So sorry if I steered you wrong about “13 reasons why” I didn’t mean too, I just didn’t find it as sad. The stars book had that sudden death that just tore me up, but 13 was sad but you knew what the end result was going to be the whole time, and there was a lot of funny parts. what did you think of it? your favorite part?

    1. First It’s perfectly fine with the 13 reasons why thing. I thought it was really well written, and I didn’t really have a favorite part when I read it. I noticed I haven’t really told you anything about myself, other than the last post. So here’s a little bit about me: I wear glasses, my favorite place to go is Disneyland, I have two cats, a sister, and I am currently finishing up Out of my Mind! (: It’s such a good book! Have fun reading it! – Clara

  9. I have 2 dogs, am an only child, and am about halfway through “out of my mind” it is great. I am at the part where she brings in her new computer to her inclusion classes. And I absolutely love Disney land! About 6 months ago I went on a cruise, and that was awesome too.

  10. Well, I have now officially Finished “out of my mind” very very good! What did you think?

    1. Wow! You went on a cruise? Awesome! I loved Out of my Mind! So what now? what book do you want to read next? I was thinking something like Unwind, or maybe Cherub, if you’ve heard of them.

  11. I have not heard of them, but the one I started no is “divergent ” and it is pretty good so far. And yes the cruise was great, it was actually a music cruise so there was like 5 bands on board, the headliner of which was “paramore” it also have Tegan and sara, bad rabbits, me without you, and shiny toy guns
