Ready Player One- Chia

Ready Player One- Chia

In this book, I found the author wanting the readers to talk about achieving goals, childhood games, and childhood stories/places. The author reflects back a lot to the 80’s and I think that those who were around the 80’s or born around the 80’s can relate to this book very much. Even though I wasn’t born in the 80’s I found myself knowing some of the video games and things he mentions.

I was able to relate to some of the games he mentions in the book for example the game Street Fighter II. I remember playing this game back in childhood years. As he mentions these games I was able to reflect it back to my life and that really helped me to better understand the book and the character of the main protagonist.

The book seems to hold the childhood around the 80’s though I wasn’t around this time but, a later time though I was able to relate back to my life.

I think that the book portrayal of the world of the character was both mirror reality and realm of fantasy. As I read the book I can see that it’s not just this character but, people all around face struggles, goals that they want to achieve, and fantasy on things we want.

I think that the purpose of the book is to give the audience an exploration of a fantasy world with a character that enhances a strong personality who seeks to fulfill his goal. I believe that this book falls in the fantasy and new realism categories.
