Divergent series ruined me (Ariela Cruz)

Divergent series ruined me (Ariela Cruz)

So, I finished the Divergent series about a week ago and have been putting off this blog since then because I was so upset with the ending that I didn’t even want to have to think about the books. Thus being said, this blog post is going to be relatively short. I started off loving the series because I thought the first book was amaaaazzzinng. All the characters, Tris, Four, Christina, Will, Eric, Al, Caleb and her parents were so intriguing and the plot was pretty fantastic.  I found myself trying to fit everyone I knew into one of the factions or decide if they were divergent. I of course at first was like, “Oh I am so Dauntless” and then I was like, “NO! I am divergent”‘ haha. Needless to say, I really got into the first book and literally could not put it down. The second book was pretty depressing and the third book took me for a loop and I was totally depressed and angry when it was over. If I ever decided to use the series in a classroom, which I probably won’t because I don’t ever want to read them again, just because it was so sad, I would definitely use it to enhance kid’s imagination and creative writing. I might have the kids read the books and then ask them to create their own society and what would it look like. I might also explore talking about different cliques and things and talk about the role of each person in society. I would definitely only recommend the books for high school students because I think the content of the book is a bit mature. Overall I thought the books were really good, I just hated the ending and most likely wouldn’t re-read them . I will watch the movies though, hello Theo James =)
