Weenie Series- Hailee Young

The series I am reading Is David Lubar’s Weenie Series. This series is seriously great! I can’t wait to recommend it to my students. One of my favorite things about this series is that it is composed of a bunch of different stories. This layout makes it really easy to set down and pick up. All of the stories have different lessons behind them, which is also another great aspect of the series. When I read I get really, really bored. This series made reading a lot better because of all the different stories I wanted to read more! David Lubar must be a pretty comical guy because all of the stories are pretty funny and in the back of the book he provides stories of how he thought of all the stories. In one he sayshe was in the shower and “just thought of it”. One of the things this book is great for is that it is a great resource for reading out loud or for silent reading time because they can read several different stories during the silent reading time. I think the title in itself will win kids over. You may have to be a little careful with this serious be causes a few of the stories seemed a little inappropriate, but all in all its a great series. Though, I still don’t understand the meaning behind its title, “Weenie Series”.
