Avery: Maze Runner

Hi Jaurele!

Im so excited to say this but, I finished Maze Runner! It was such an amazing book even though it took a while to get into it. Now I am super anxious to see the movie and to read the rest of the series.  Im not the biggest fan of distopian novels but it was one of my favorites and I sure hope to read more of his books.

This story was so good and love how the author made it very clear that Thomas and Teresa were important *IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED THE BOOK DON’T READ ON* I think that he did a perfect amount of painting a clear image but definitely not a perfect one so we could still have wonders and questions that we would find out later. Like how to get out of the maze, what beetle blades are, what grievers were and why Thomas and Teresa were important which you find out later on.

This book also shows great courage like when Thomas had to save Alby put him before himself when he was first in the maze, even though he strongly disliked Alby. This book was also very confusing at many points in the story. Like why, when, and how did they get to the maze. And yes, I know its because they are genius or something like that but still, why them? I still have so many questions. Also, I thought the ending absolutely sucked (sorry not sugar coating at all) I cried so much and hated how they had Thomas’s “brother” Chuck die. After they had finally left the shank it was so happy then bam. Hate.

I will still eventually finish the series and read on, but I need major Maze Runner rehab, so I am now going to read Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie which I am so stoked for! Hope you are too :)

Copper Sun chapters 1-23

Sharon. M Draper has written one of my all time favorite books, so when I started reading Copper Sun I really needed it to live up to my high expectation of Out Of My Mind.

But unfortunately I didn’t quite do it for me… Yet.

The book just started out very slow and I was just reading it because I felt I had to, like a chore. But as soon as I flipped the page to chapter 6 I was glued. I literally couldn’t put this book down and through out the day, week and forever I will be thinking about this book!

It was so well written and in great detail, I was very impressed. I love how Draper went into so much time and detail to make sure that everyone could connect to Amari, Polly and Teenie. I especially loved how  she wrote this book as if she was just writing down a real conversation.

This book really has my attention and I am so glad i decided to read this. I still have so many questions that need answers, and I sure hope they do get answered. Who is your favorite so far? Whats relatable or interesting to you? Let me know!

Introduction to Jaurele

Introduction to Jaurele

Jaurele, I am so excited to be working on this project with you, and to start reading new books! My name is Avery S. and in my free time I love to swim for the Chico Aqua Jets, watch Youtube, read and binge watch on Netflix(way too much). Oops!

I chose these books because they all were recommended to me by Mrs. Fairon, I chose Copper Sun by Sharon M. Draper because I read Out of my Mind and i absolutely loved it! I will be reading this book first. The other books are Maze Runner which I was mainly reading so I can watch the movie, and the book I am most excited about is Drums, Girls, and dangerous Pie.

I am super excited to get this started and to read with you,

Avery S.
