Hey everyone my name is Kiersten Scannell and it is my first year here at Chico State. I completed three years of community college and decided that Chico would be my new home! I fell in love with the campus the first time I came and never wanted to leave.

For me being a reader means someone that actually enjoys reading and does it for fun. So I would not consider myself a big “reader”, unless it is something that I really like. I have only had a few instances where I have found books that I am really into, and even then I get tired of reading them and stop halfway through the series. I wish I was into reading because  I feel like it would open up so many more doors of activities I would like.

I think some important take-away’s from the article are that kids are not “loners” or “weird” if they enjoy reading. I think someone could enjoy reading just as much as I love to play sports. It’s just different interests, it is not a bad thing.
