My name is Hannah Fyffe and I am from Lodi, California. I want to be an elementary school teacher, preferably fourth through sixth grade. I am majoring in liberal studies and getting a minor in special education. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was very young. My neighbor was my fifth grade teacher and really made me want to be like her. Another plus of becoming a teacher is the great hours and vacation time. I can still be a part of my own family while working and doing something I love. I have never really enjoyed reading because I am not good at the comprehension aspect of it so I want to help my future students with this skill. A reader to me is somebody that is skilled at comprehension and understanding. They ask questions about the text. A reader is one that reads because they enjoy it. Today we read much differently than we used to because we read more than just books. We read texts, emails, social media, and other aspects like that. I am hoping this class will help me help my future students enjoy reading!
