Blog Numero Dos: Miller Idea’s!

Blog Numero Dos: Miller Idea’s!

The two take- away ideas I get from Miller so far is bring a book anywhere and try to be fluid with your students when you assign reading. Those were also the ideas that resonated with me because I realized how much free time I had to read. Now I’m carrying around my Nook everywhere I go because she made me crave a good book (that is very rare for me by the way). That’s why I am so excited to teach because I want to show my students that reading can be fun and don’t hate it (like I used to). But, that is also my fear. How can I make them love reading without forcing them to read!? Do I just give suggestions or book list?! How do I know if they’re actually reading doing the whole write about it and make your parents sign the paper thing!? Miller also makes a good point by giving her students the time to read in class and to be able to talk about their books to make sure they are reading. I guess I just have to trust!
