Riley to Elicia for book posts Maze Runner

Riley to Elicia for book posts Maze Runner

When I was in 1st-3rd grade I only would read books if I really liked the pictures. Still to this day I will only read an illustrated book if the pictures catch my eye. As for novels I was drawn to adventure, and different societies of people. For a period of time I would only read books written in first person. I love the feeling of being in the at characters head, and going through their experiences. Some of my favorite series have been the Uglies, Twilight, and my new favorite, Maze Runner. I loved the book the Secret Life of Bees and To Kill a Mockingbird in high school. I also always have loved books about romance, I read a lot of Sarah Dessen books in high school. One of my favorite books from 4th grade was By the Great Horn Spoon. I loved this historical aspect of it, that it could have been someones life.

Today I started the book The Geography of you and me. I am not that far into it yet, but I plan to be a decent way through it by this weekend. I am a slow reader too, so I have to push myself to read. One tool to help me read is to block out a period of time every week that I dedicate to reading. On Mondays and Wednesdays I read for a solid 3 hours between my classes. This has really helped me keep to a schedule. Another tip that Ive used before is every 25 pages (or you can adjust it to what works for you,) you give yourself a reading break. Sometimes I will go eat or walk around or draw during my little break.

I can’t wait to see what you think of the ending of the book!
