After reading this poem, I think that Williams was looking outside his window from inside his house on a rainy day. He steps outside to go check on the chickens. He notices small water droplets on the red wheel barrow leaned up against the chicken coop .

Austin M,

My Brother Sam is Dead sounds really interesting I hope that I can get around to reading it.

Super excited that you read Butter because that is the book i am starting now, we can talk about our opinions on it! I have heard a few hints about what its about so i can’t wait to continue reading!

I actually just finished Maze Runner and have to say I was so happy I read it. It was so well written and always kept me on my toes. I don’t want to give too much away so when you begin reading i would love to talk with you about how you are liking it. Cant wait to talk again!

So far I have really begun to enjoy reading in the wild, I really like how she provides examples about how to motivate and continue to get children to truly enjoy reading.  She really stresses about trying to get kids really excited about reading. Something that really intrigued me was how she asks her students to write down the different places where they read I think this is cool because kids begin to get creative and actually are enjoying the act of reading because they are also enjoying their surroundings. I like how she made this more of a reflection and didn’t grade it because I feel that when you take away the nervousness of being graded you can really let your creative juices flow without worrying about their responses being right or wrong.

I think what seemed most difficult about teaching reading is getting kids to actually enjoy it because if you don’t enjoy reading I feel like it is so hard to actually get into it. I remember trying my hardest to avoid reading because I was always tested and it was never on the moral it was on tiny specific things that I didn’t necessarily remember and that always frustrated me. I think what would be the absolute most challenging thing would be recognizing when students are avoiding or “fake-reading”.

What I’m most excited for is that moment when I see my students are enjoying to read I would give anything to have a class similar to Wendy’s I cant imagine what a rush it would be to have students who love reading! I think I am most afraid of having students who really do not want to read.
